DAYTON, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team improved to 2-0 with its 81-56 win over Vanderbilt Wednesday night at UD Arena. Senior Amber Deane led all scorers with 27 points.

GAME BREAKDOWN
• Dayton had a slow start in the first quarter, not scoring until more than 3 minutes into the game, but quickly gained the upper hand.
• The Flyers led the game 10-16 at the end of quarter one.
• The Flyers continued their lead throughout the 2nd period, pulling as far ahead as 20 points (2:20).
• Both teams struggled in the first half in terms of shooting percentages. Vandy made seven of its 33 attempts while Dayton went 13-for-29.
• The game was 39-21 at the end of the half, Flyers with the lead.
• Dayton continued the lead in the third period, pulling ahead by 22 points at the end of the quarter. The Flyers led 40-62 going into the final period.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS
• Deane, senior Kelley Austria, and junior Saicha Grant-Allen all scored in the double-digits. Deane had 27 while Austria scored 12 and Grant-Allen added 11.
• Grant-Allen totaled 10 rebounds, which helped the Flyers out-rebound the Commodores, 42-33.
• The bench played a key role in this game. All 12 Flyers got playing time and 20 of Dayton's points were from the bench.
• Dayton only trailed for 3:12 of the game, all of which was within the first quarter.
• This win brings Dayton to a 2-0 regular season record after its season-opening win over Yale last Friday.
