DAYTON, Ohio- The University of Dayton women's basketball team fell to the Gonzaga Bulldogs, 57-47, Friday night at UD Arena. Sophomore Jenna Burdette's career high of 22 points wasn't enough as the Flyers fall to 6-3 on the season while the Zags improved to 7-4.

GAME BREAKDOWN:
•1Q: Gonzaga got off to a fast start leading the game early 7-0 and stretching the lead to 14-3 after three Flyers turnovers. The Bulldogs started the game shooting 75% from the field, connecting on six of their first eight shots, including 2-2 from behind the arc. Dayton was able to crawl back with the help of Burdette's six first-period points. The Flyers ended the quarter trailing 18-15.
•2Q: Dayton continued to fight its way back into the game and ended the first half tied with Gonzaga at 31. Burdette finished the half with 14 points on 5-6 shooting. The Flyers were shooting 40% from the field but only 22.2% from long range. They also were out-rebounded in the first half 26-20, giving up 12 offensive rebounds.
•3Q: The third quarter belonged to the Bulldogs as the Flyers came out flat. Gonzaga lead by as many as 13 and finished the quarter ahead 50-38. Dayton scored seven points the entire quarter and turned the ball over eight times. Gonzaga shot 46% in the period.
•4Q: After a basket from sophomore JaVonna Layfield, the Flyers cut the Bulldogs' lead to 8 at 50-42. That was as close as it would get as Dayton dropped the game by a score of 57-47.

- Burdette's career high 22 points came on an 8-11 shooting performance from the field, including 2-5 from three.
- Junior Saicha Grant-Allen recorded her third double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
- Senior Amber Deane, Dayton's leading scoring on the season with an average of 15.3 ppg, was held to just 1 point on an 0-5 shooting night.
- Gonzaga was led by Emma Stach's 12 points and Kiara Kudron's 13 rebounds.

- Dayton shot just 34.6% from the field on 18-52 shooting. They were just 2-15 from three (13.3%). Gonzaga shot just 34.8% from the field but was 5-17 from behind the arc.
