LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team is set to square off against Kentucky Sunday afternoon in the Second Round of the 2015 NCAA Tournament. The seventh-seeded Flyers advanced after defeated Iowa State on Friday while the second-seeded Wildcats defeated Tennessee State. Tip-off between UD and UK is set for 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Coliseum and the game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

About the Flyers
Dayton (26-6) picked up its third NCAA Tournament win in program history on Friday after eliminating Iowa State, 78-66. The Flyers ended the regular season with a six-game winning streak and have won nine of their last 10 outings. UD is led offensively by senior Andrea Hoover with 17.7 ppg. and 3.2 apg. while senior Ally Malott is the squad's leading rebounder at 7.7 rpg. Junior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova protects the paint with 2.5 bpg. for the Flyers.

Scouting Kentucky
No. 11/11 Kentucky (24-9) dropped a 75-64 decision to fifth-ranked Tennessee in the SEC Tournament semifinals on March 7 but upended Tennessee State, 97-52, on Friday in NCAA Tournament First Round play. The Wildcats suffered through a three-game skid in mid-February but have now won five of their last six games. UK is led by Makayla Epps with 14.5 ppg. and Linnae Harper with 6.9 rpg.

Last Time Out
Four Flyers scored in double figures Friday in Dayton's 78-66 win over Iowa State in UD's six-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament First Round. The win was the program's third NCAA Tourney victory as UD advances to the Second Round for the second time in three years. Senior Andrea Hoover led all scorers with 20 points and senior Ally Malott added 18 points to go with a game-high 12 rebounds for her seventh double-double of the season.

The Series
Dayton and Kentucky have previously met 20 times and the Wildcats hold the 17-3 all-time advantage in the series. Ironically, the two last squared off during the 2013 NCAA Tournament Second Round with the Wildcats coming away with an 84-70 win over the Flyers. NOTE: Kentucky women's basketball did not become a varsity sport until the 1974-75 season and UK does not include the first four meetings in the series in its all-time series record.

70'S the Magic Number
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 109-10 (.916) when scoring 70 or more points, including 22-1 this season. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

Six Flyers Earn End-of-Season Recognition
Dayton junior Amber Deane was named the Atlantic 10's Sixth Woman of the Year, one of six Flyers to earn end-of-season recognition from the league. Deane is the third Flyer to earn the award, the first since Olivia Applewhite in 2013. Seniors Andrea Hoover and Ally Malott were each named to both the A-10 First Team and the All-Academic Team while freshman Jenna Burdette picked up All-Rookie Team honors. Junior Kelley Austria was named to the All-Defensive Team roster while junior Jodie Cornélie-Sigmundová joined Hoover and Malott on the All-Academic Team.

Sixth-Consecutive NCAA Tournament for Dayton
The Flyers are making their sixth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA in 2015 and hold an all-time record of 3-5 in NCAA Tournament play. This is UD's fifth at-large bid to the championship after becoming an automatic qualifier in 2012 with its Atlantic 10 Championship title. Last year, Dayton earned the program's best seed of No. 6 and squared off against Florida. The Gators eliminated the Flyers, 83-69, in University Park, Pennsylvania.

1,000 and Counting
With her first made basket in the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championship final, junior Amber Deane became the 23rd member of Dayton's 1,000-point club as only the 10th Flyer to reach that milestone in her third season. She has 1,015 career points heading into the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Senior Ally Malott became the 22nd member of the 1,000-point club at UD with her 24 points against Iowa on Nov. 22. She currently has 1,453 career points for seventh all-time in Dayton scoring history. Senior Andrea Hoover reached the 1,000-point milestone on Feb. 5, 2014. She was the 21st Flyer to join the club and ninth to do so as a junior. Hoover currently has 1,804 career points and ranks fifth all-time at Dayton. She needs 29 points to pass Justine Raterman for fourth place.

20/20 Vision
Dayton reached the 20-wins mark for the eighth-consecutive season with its 59-45 win at Fordham on Feb. 18. This is the 15th time in the program's 47 seasons that Dayton has reached the 20-win plateau.

1,000-500-300
Only two players in the history of Dayton women's basketball have reached the 1,000-points, 500-rebounds and 300-assists mark. The first to do it was Beverly Crusoe (and in only three seasons! - 1977-80) with 1,627 points, 946 rebounds and 358 assists for her career. The second? Current senior Andrea Hoover - 1,804 points, 700 rebounds and 338 assists.

We'll Take the Free Ones
As a team, the Flyers shot 76.4 percent from the free throw line in 2013-14, the BEST team free throw percentage in Dayton history. The 76.4 percent ranked second in the Atlantic 10 and 14th nationally. Then-junior Andrea Hoover led the Flyers from the line with a 93.6 free throw percentage (1st A-10, 3rd NCAA).

Currently, the Flyers are 517-706 from the line for 73.2 percent - currently third in the A-10 and 41st nationally - which is fourth all-time. Hoover again leads the team at 88.1 percent (141-160, 12th nationally).

Three Points of Excellence
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 446 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012. This season, UD hit 11 three-point baskets in its game against Central Michigan at UD Arena on Dec. 13.

Through games played on March 19, as a team the Flyers ranked ninth in the nation with a 37.6 three-point field goal percentage while senior Andrea Hoover was tops on the team with her 44.9 3FG percentage - sixth in the NCAA.

You Look Familiar
Senior Andrea Hoover has been in the Flyers' starting lineup for 100 consecutive games and in 119 of the 124 games she has been a part of at Dayton. Fellow senior Ally Malott has also played in all 124 games over the past four seasons with a total of 89 starts. Malott has made 67 consecutive appearances in the starting lineup for UD.

Deadly from a Distance
With 234 made three-point baskets for her career, senior Andrea Hoover now holds the Dayton career record for made three-pointers. With one made three-point basket in UD's 82-64 win over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 15, Hoover broke the record previously held by former Flyer Stefanie Miller (221; 1999-04).

You're Invited to a Block Party
The team's blocks leader for the past two seasons is at it again ... junior Jodie Cornélie-Sigmundová is averaging 2.5 blocks per game this season which ranks first in the Atlantic 10. Cornélie-Sigmundová has 172 career blocks and she ranks third in program history - 48 blocks behind the all-time leader Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88).

First Half Success = Second Half Victory
Dayton is 24-3 this season when leading at halftime, including a perfect 14-0 in Atlantic 10 play for 2015. The Flyers are 2-3 when either trailing at the half or tied at halftime.

100 Wins Over Four Years
Since moving up to Division I for the 1984-85 season, the winningest four-year period of Dayton basketball is now 2011-present with 100 wins over 124 games. With 26 wins this season, the senior duo of Andrea Hoover and Ally Malott (Tiffany Johnson did not play her first two seasons at Dayton) moved into first place on the all-time class wins list, setting a new program record with the team's win over Saint Joseph's on March 6.

Dayton in the A-10 Championship
The Flyers made their 20th appearance in the Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship in 2015, having made the post-season tournament every season Dayton has been a member of the league. UD has won one A-10 Championship title (2012) in three previous finals appearances and holds a 20-18 overall record for league tournament games. In 2015, Dayton made its fourth appearance in the championship finals in the last five season.

Flyers in League Play
Dayton has won 54 of its last 60 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.900), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season. Of its six A-10 losses over the last four seasons, Dayton has taken three L's at home and three on the road.

She Dropped 30
Behind a 13-for-16 night from the floor, senior forward Ally Malott scored a career-high 30 points in UD's 87-72 win over Saint Louis on Jan. 31. It was the first time a Flyer had scored 30 points in a game since former Flyer Justine Raterman scored 32 at Duquesne on Feb. 25, 2012. Malott's hard work paid off with an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week nod on Feb. 2.

Seniors Andrea Hoover and Ally Malott were selected as candidates for the Senior CLASS Award - Dayton was the only program with TWO players among the final 30 in the running for the award. An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Senior CLASS Award honors the attributes of NCAA Division I senior student-athletes in four areas: community, classroom, character and competition.

Dayton signed three to National Letters of Intent during the early signing period: Lauren Cannatelli (Cincinnati, Ohio/Lakota West), Madeleine Dennis (Perth, Western Australia/Mount Lawley) and Ashleigh Parkinson (Newark, Ohio/Newark Catholic). The trio will be joining the team in the fall of 2015.

Perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR)
Dayton women's basketball has posted a perfect Graduation Success Rate (GSR) for nine consecutive seasons, every year the rate has been published except for one. The Flyers are one of only eight programs to post a perfect score and reach the NCAA Tournament for the past five seasons: Dayton, DePaul, Duke, Iowa State, Notre Dame, St. John's, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. Additionally, Dayton was the only school to have both its men's and women's basketball programs post perfect GSR scores and make appearances in the 2014 NCAA Tournament.

National Team Experience
Five Flyers have experience playing for their respective national teams.
• Sophomore Saicha Grant-Allen most recently was a member of Canada's Senior B Women's Basketball National Team that claimed the 36th Annual William Jones Cup in Taipei, Taiwan, during the summer of 2014.
• Sophomore Andrijana Cvitkovic played for the Croatian U18 National Team during the summer of 2012.
• Junior Amber Deane participated in the 2013 USA Basketball U19 World Championship Team trials.
• Junior Jodie Cornélie-Sigmundová has played on the French National U16, U17 and U18 teams.
• Senior Ally Malott was a member of the 2010 USA Basketball U18 National Team that compiled a perfect 5-0 record and earned the 2010 FIBA Americas Championship gold medal.
