FAIRBORN, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team picked up a 3-1 win over Wright State Wednesday night at WSU Softball Stadium in non-conference action. The Flyers improve to 23-10 overall and have won 18 of their last 20 games.

Tiffany Ricks hit her team-leading sixth home run of the season, a two-run bomb over the left field fence in the fourth inning.

The Flyers added an insurance run in the fifth inning.
Kennedy Haynes started the inning with a single through the right side.
Natalie Mariano followed with a first-pitch hit through the left side.
Kathryn Hess put down a sacrifice bunt to advance both runners.
Jaclyn Kweder smacked an RBI single off the pitcher.Â

WSU regained one run in the bottom of the fifth. Kweder also had two highlight reel catches in centerfield to help keep WSU to one run.

Gabrielle Snyder earned the win on the mound for the Flyers after striking out three and gave up just three hits and one run in five innings of work.

Manda Cash came in relief for the Flyers for the final two innings. She gave up just one hit and struck out one to earn her third save of the season.

The Flyers continue their road swing with a three-game weekend series at preseason conference favorite Fordham. Â The series is scheduled for a single game Friday at noon, while Saturday will feature a doubleheader with an 11 a.m. start time.
