DAYTON, Ohio – The University of Dayton softball team (34-12, 17-2 A-10) finished the 2015 home season by sweeping the Massachusetts Minutewomen (14-23, 8-11 A-10) 1-0 and 6-0, and wrapped up a perfect 14-0 record at UD Softball Stadium, the first time the Flyers have gone undefeated during the season at home in program history.
Game 1 – Dayton 1, Massachusetts 0Graduate student
Jordan Jennings smacked a walk-off homerun off the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh to give University of Dayton softball a 1-0 victory over Massachusetts in game one of an Atlantic 10 doubleheader.
Freshman
Manda Cash earned the win, coming in relief in the seventh, striking out one. Senior
Kayla English pitched six scoreless innings, striking out three, with a no decision.
The Minutewomen left 10 base runners stranded in the game. UMass had two runners with two outs and short stop
Kayla Haberstich made a clutch play and throw to first to end the top of the seventh inning.
In the top of the second, UMass loaded the bases, but English struck out Quianna Diaz-Patterson, who is second in the nation in batting average (.535). Cash and English combined to strike her out four times today.
UD had four hits in the game, including the homerun by Jennings, a double by
Kailee Budicin and singles by
Gabrielle Snyder and
Tiffany Ricks.

Game 2 – Dayton 6, Massachusetts 0In the second game of the doubleheader,
Manda Cash struck out 10, tying her career high in a game. She only allowed three hits, and improved her record to 9-1 on the season.
Dayton got the scoring started in the third with three runs.
Jaclyn Kweder put the ball in play and reached by error.
Natalie Mariano singled to the left side to move Kweder to second.
Kathryn Hess put down a sacrifice bunt to advance runners to second and third.
Gabrielle Snyder walked to load the bases.
Tiffany Ricks got the first run on the board with an RBI single to right field. The inning continued with an RBI fielder's choice by
Kailee Budicin. The inning was capped off by another RBI fielder's choice by
Kayla Haberstich.
Dayton added two more runs in the fourth inning, first from a Mariano RBI single, followed by a Snyder RBI double that scored pinch-runner redshirt sophomore
Krista Gustafson.Â
The Flyers added another insurance run in the sixth on yet another RBI fielder's choice from Budicin. Â Mariano led the Flyers going 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI

The Flyers have clinched a spot in the 2015 A-10 Championship Tournament. It is UD's fourth appearance in the tournament in the last five seasons.
The Flyers play a three-game, Atlantic 10 series at La Salle in Philadelphia to close out the regular season on Saturday, May 2 at 12 p.m. for a doubleheader and a single game on Sunday, May 3 at 12 p.m.Â
