DAYTON, Ohio - University of Dayton women's basketball head coach Jim Jabir has announced the addition of Marist transfer Madeline Blais to the Flyers' roster.
Blais, an All-MAAC First and Academic Team member, will sit out the 2015-16 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
"Madeline is going to be a strong addition to our program," said Jabir. "She will bring a wealth of experience and capability to shoot the ball. Our experience in the Elite Eight has shown us the value of shooting and experience - she has both."
An Exeter, New Hampshire native, Blais spent the past three seasons with Marist and started in 64 of her last 66 games for the Red Foxes. She helped lead her team to a 2015 MAAC Championship finals appearance and berth in the 2015 WNIT.
Blais averaged 16.3 ppg. and 5.7 rpg. to go along with 50 blocks, 48 assists and 36 steals over 33.7 mpg. in 2014-15. She also earned Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-District honors following her junior season.
Prior to Marist, Blais was the top-ranked player out of the state of New Hampshire. She was a First Team All-NEPSAC selection after both her junior and senior seasons. A team captain in her senior year, she was named her team's MVP when New Hampton went 23-2.
