DAYTON -- The University of Dayton men's basketball team defeated the Findlay Oilers 76-69 on Friday evening at UD Arena in exhibition play.
It was a tale of two halves Friday evening for the Flyers as they were down as much as 16 points in the first after Findlay shot 7-13 (53.8%) from beyond the arc. The Flyers were able to battle back in the second half and was able to take the lead 60-57 with 7:07 left to play in the game. Dayton did not trail the rest of the game, winning with a final score of 76-69.Â
GAME BREAKDOWN
• Findlay scored the first points of the game and held the lead over Dayton for the entire first half. After an 8-6 score, Findlay then went on a 13-0 run until
Josh Cunningham ended the scoring drought with a layup.
• Findlay's largest lead of the game was 16 points after shooting 7-13 (53.8%) from beyond the arc in the first half.
• The Flyers were able to battle back in the second half and was able to take the lead 60-57 with 7:07 left to play in the game.

• Dayton's senior
Charles Cooke paved the way for the Flyers tallying 19 points.
Josh Cunningham added 18 points and
Scoochie Smith chipped in with 16.
Kendall Pollard did not play due to an injury suffered in practice.
• A closer look into Cooke's performance: he shot 7-for-13 overall and 1-for-3 from downtown, while going 4-for-6 at the charity stripe. Fifteen of his 19 points came in the second half.  He was also tied first on the team in rebounds with seven.Â
• Dayton shot 1-6 (16.7%) in the first half from behind the arc and was 12-30 (40%) overall. In the second half, Dayton improved to 5-13 (38.5%) and 15-27 (55.6%) overall.Â
• Dayton had the advantage in the paint scoring 38 points compared to Findlay's 16.Â
• Taren Sullivan led the Oilers with 19 points shooting 3-5 from three-point range and also nabbed eight rebounds.
