WOMEN'S HOOPS BACK HOME FOR GEORGE MASON WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Flyers and Patriots to Tip-Off at 7 p.m. at UD Arena

DAYTON, Ohio - the University of Dayton women's basketball team will be at home Wednesday night to play host to George Mason in Atlantic 10 action. Tip-off between the Flyers and the Patriots is set for 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

Flyer Facts
» Head coach Jim Jabir is in his 13th season (250-149) at the helm of the Dayton women's team in 2015-16. He was named the eighth head coach, and first male, in the history of the program on April 8, 2003. Jabir holds a career record of 470-372 over 29 seasons.
» Dayton participated in its sixth-consecutive NCAA Tournament in 2015. It was the fifth at-large bid for the Flyers and the team's first appearance in a NCAA Regional Final.
» This is the Flyers' 48th season (1968-69) as an intercollegiate sport at Dayton. UD's all-time record sits at 753-563 (.572).
» The Flyers are 171-144 (.543) in Atlantic 10 regular season play (21st season).
» With five blocks at Duquesne on Jan. 3, senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova broke the school record for all-time career blocks, a record that has stood since 1988. She has 255 career blocks and counting and is currently leading the A-10 with 3.4 bpg.
» Freshman Lauren Cannatelli has made a team-best 45 three-point baskets this season (5th A-10) which currently ranks second all-time among Flyer freshman. Former Flyer Justine Raterman sank 47 three-pointers her first year on the team (2008-09).

About the Flyers
Dayton (12-9, 5-5 A-10) has won four straight games heading into Wednesday night's contest against George Mason and has moved up to seventh place in the Atlantic 10 standings. The Flyers currently rank 19th nationally with 5.4 blocked shots per game, led by senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova with 3.38 blocks/game (5th NCAA). UD's junior Saicha Grant-Allen is the team's leading scorer (11.0 ppg.) and rebounder (8.5 rpg. - 5th A-10) while sophomore Jenna Burdette dishes out a team-high 4.2 apg. (5th A-10). 

Scouting George Mason
George Mason (10-14, 5-6 A-10) is coming off a 55-41 win over Saint Joseph's on Feb. 7 and the Patriots have won two of their last three match-ups. GM has three double-digit scorers, led by Taylor Brown with 14.8 ppg. (8th A-10) while Tiffany Padgett grabs a team-best 6.3 rpg. As a team, the Patriots have made 353 free throws on the season, 14th-most in the NCAA.

Last Time Out
With a career-high six made three-point baskets, freshman Lauren Cannatelli led all scorers with 21 points in Dayton's 67-53 win at Rhode Island on Sunday. Junior Saicha Grant-Allen recorded her fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and a career-high 18 rebounds as UD won the battle of the glass, 56-33. Sophomore Jenna Burdette again turned in an all-around game with 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists and two steals for the Flyers.

The Series
There have been three meetings between Dayton and George Mason since the Patriots joined the Atlantic 10 prior to the 2013-14 season. The Flyers have won all three previous match-ups, including a 103-81 win in Dayton on Feb. 1, 2014.

Flyers in League Play
Dayton has won 59 of its last 70 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.843), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, including posting a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

We'll Take the Free Ones
As a team the Flyers shot 76.4 percent from the free throw line in 2013-14, the BEST team free throw percentage in Dayton history. The Flyers are once again shooting well from the line this season, currently coming in at 73.4 percent (the program's fifth-best free-throw percentage) which ranks fourth in the Atlantic 10.

You're Invited to a Block Party
The team's blocks leader for the past four seasons, senior Jodie Cornelie-Sigmundova averages 2.22 blocks/game for her career which ranks 16th among all Division I active players while her career total of 255 blocks ranks eighth nationally among all DI actives. With five blocks at Duquesne on Jan. 3, Cornélie-Sigmundová's career blocks total ranks her FIRST in Dayton program history - surpassing the previous record holder, Michele Kruty (220; 1984-88), and breaking a program record that stood for 28 seasons. Her career-high nine blocks against VCU on Jan. 13 is the second-most blocks in one game all-time by a Flyer.

Burdette in the A-10
Averaging a team-best 4.2 assists/game, sophomore Jenna Burdette ranks fifth in the Atlantic 10. She can also be found in several other categories ranked among the best in the league: ninth with a 1.2 assist/turnover ratio, 10th with a 79.0 free-throw percentage and 11th with a 36.2 three-point field-goal percentage.

70'S the Magic Number
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 119-12 (.908) when scoring 70 or more points, including 24-2 in 2014-15. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
