#UDSB BLASTS BY ST. BONAVENTURE 6-1 FOR SERIES SWEEP

OLEAN, N.Y. – The University of Dayton softball team made it a clean sweep of St. Bonaventure for the weekend on Sunday afternoon, blasting past the Bonnies 6-1 at Joyce Field.

Scoring Breakdown
Top 1st – Junior Katie Ryan opened up the scoring with a run-scoring single up the middle that brought home junior Gabrielle Snyder and put Dayton up 1-0.
Top 1st – Freshman Kyle Davidson doubled the Flyers' lead and made it a 2-0 Dayton with a second-straight RBI single that brought home senior Krista Gustafson.
Top 1st – Senior Kathryn Hess put the exclamation point on the inning with a two-run single that scored Ryan and sophomore Kailee Budicin and put UD up 4-0.
Bottom 1st – St. Bonaventure struck back immediately with a triple followed by a single to make the score 4-1.
Top 4th – After freshman Aspyn Novak singled and Snyder reached on an error, Gustafson came through with a double to left field that brought home both runners and put Dayton up 6-1.

Key Stats
Gustafson finished the game 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored.

Novak also finished the game with two base hits, including her first collegiate double. The rookie also scored a run.

Sophomore Manda Cash picked up her ninth win of the season, throwing five innings and allowing just one run while striking out four.

Freshman Jessica Gilliam threw the final two innings for the Flyers in perfect fashion, facing the minimum and striking out one.

Dayton returns to the comforts of UD Softball Stadium on Saturday, April 30 for a three-game series against Fordham, beginning with a doubleheader at noon.
