WASHINGTON, D.C. – In the second game of the University of Dayton softball team's Saturday, the Flyers battled top-seeded Fordham University in a classic pitchers' duel, with the Rams eventually pulling out a 12-inning thriller 1-0 at the George Washington University Mount Vernon Athletic Complex.
The Flyers made multiple highlight-worthy plays during the course of the game, but couldn't string enough hits together to knock off the tournament's top seed.
Scoring Breakdown
Bottom 12th – With a runner aboard and two away, Sydney Canessa drove home the game-winning run with a double to the centerfield wall that gave Fordham the 1-0 victory.
