FAIRBORN, Ohio – The University of Dayton women's soccer team (2-5-1) fought to a 1-1 double overtime tie against crosstown foe Wright State (2-6-2) Sunday night at Alumni Field.Â
STATS OF THE MATCH
• Dayton outshot WSU 15-12, but the Raiders held a 2-1 advantage in the second overtime.
• Both goals were scored in the first half.Â
• Both teams took five corner kicks and fouls were also even 16-16.
• Flyer sophomore goalkeeper
Kaelyn Johns registered seven saves in 110 minutes of action.
DAYTON GOAL
• 40th minute –
Madeleine Morrissey scored her second goal of the season.
Erin O'Malley's free kick split two defenders. Morrissey settled the ball and quickly knocked the ball in the net from about seven yards out.
WRIGHT STATE GOAL
• 9th minute – The Raiders got on the board first as Ellie Ganz chipped the ball into the box; Jordyne Helinski was 10 yards from the goal and headed the ball into the near side.
