1st Quarter – Dayton 7, Saint Louis 15
The Flyers struck first with a three by junior
Jenna Burdette to start the game. Both teams settled in early defensively and baskets were hard to come by. SLU didn't get its first point until the 5:38 mark on a free throw. By the media timeout, it was 5-1 in favor of Dayton. The Billikens started the game 0-for-10 from the field with their first four points coming from the line. SLU scored his first basket at the 2:32 mark in the first quarter to take a 6-5 lead, but redshirt senior
Kelley Austria quickly answered with a layup to put UD back on top, 7-6. Saint Louis then woke up offensively and finished the last 1:43 of the quarter on a 9-0 run.
2nd Quarter – Dayton 32, Saint Louis 29
Freshman
Jayla Scaife opened up the second quarter with five quick points, followed by Burdette's jumper that pulled the Flyers back within one at 15-14. Austria hit a pair of free throws to put Dayton back in the lead at the 7:04 mark. SLU junior Jackie Kemph scored six straight points for the hosts, but Scaife hit another three to tie the game up at 21-21. The two teams traded buckets back and forth over the latter half of the second period, but Dayton managed to put a couple back-to-back and went into the locker room with a narrow lead.
3rd Quarter – Dayton 53, Saint Louis 48
Saint Louis came out and jumped back ahead of UD with five straight points. The Flyers settled in once again though and hung with the surging Billikens. Dayton would climb back in front only for SLU to counter with a basket of its own.  By the media timeout, the Flyers were down three, 40-37. After the media, Dayton responded and used a contested Scaife layup to lead 43-42 with under three minutes to play. Back-to-back three's by Scaife and Burdette made it a seven-point Dayton lead.
4th Quarter – Dayton 78, Saint Louis 67
Flyers went into the final quarter with the lead and were determined to hold it. After foul trouble early in the game, senior
Saicha Grant-Allen made her impact on both ends of the floor in the fourth. Her bucket in a busy interior put UD ahead 58-52 going into the media break. SLU went cold from the field and had a 4:50 drought while the Flyers extended their advantage to nine at 63-52. All of SLU's points in the first six minutes came at the free throw line. The Billikens attempted a comeback and got within five at 68-63. But fouling down the stretch put Dayton at the free throw line, where they clinched the game.
