ATHENS, Ga. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out the weekend with a 12-0, five-inning loss at Georgia Sunday afternoon. The Flyers were 3-2 at the 14th Annual Georgia Classic played at Jack Turner Softball Stadium.
Dayton moves to 6-4 on the season while Georgia continues its winning streak at 12-0.

Twelfth-ranked Georgia tallied three runs in both the first and second innings to jump out in front of Dayton, 6-0. The Flyers got a runner in scoring position in both the third and fourth but were unable to convert. UGA broke the game open in the bottom of the fourth with a grand slam and clinched the run-rule shortened win, 12-0.

Dayton will return to action March 3-4 when it travels to Spartanburg, S.C., to take part in the USC Upstate Classic. In addition to host USC Upstate, Dayton will also square off against Canisius and Furman during the two-day event at Cyrill Softball Stadium.
