SOFTBALL TAKES WEEKEND FINALE, 6-0, OVER GEORGE MASON

Budicin Records Career-High Four Hits to Lead the Flyer Offense

DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team picked up a 6-0 win over George Mason Sunday in the series finale at UD Softball Stadium. Junior Kailee Budicin recorded a career-high four hits on her way to a perfect 4-for-4 day at the plate to lead the Flyer offense.

With the win, Dayton improves to 16-17 overall and an even 4-4 in Atlantic 10 action while George Mason falls to 9-21 on the season and 4-2 in league play.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
Bottom First
Budicin opened the game with a double and moved to third on a single from senior Gabrielle Snyder. Snyder stole second to put two runners in scoring position and Budicin scurried home to beat out a throw as sophomore Kyle Davidson made it to first on a fielder's choice. Snyder and Davidson were able to score on a two-out, two-RBI single by sophomore Lisa Tassi to put Dayton in front, 3-0.

Bottom Fifth
Senior Hannah DeSalvo led off the fifth and was hit by a pitch to get one before stealing second, her team-leading 13th stolen bag of the season. Junior Manda Cash was walked and replaced on the base by junior Jaclyn Kweder as Tassi stepped to the plate and collected two more RBI with a double. With two outs, Budicin's fourth hit of the day was a RBI-double that plated Tassi for the Flyers' final run of the game. Dayton claimed a 6-0 win over George Mason.
