DAYTON – The University of Dayton softball team lost the series finale to Rhode Island at home Sunday, 5-2.

Dayton is now 25-21 on the year and 11-6 in Atlantic 10 games while Rhode Island moves to 8-30 and 5-12 in league play.

The four-run fourth inning for Rhode Island proved to be the difference in the contest.

2 – Gabby Snyder contributed both RBI for Dayton, after going 2-for03 with a run scored.
2 – Hannah DeSalvo and Manda Cash also added two-hit games.
10 – Starting pitcher Manda Cash struck out 10 batters, pushing her total to 23 in her two games over the weekend.
8-7 – Dayton out-hit Rhode Island in the contest 8-7.
 
SCORING BREAKDOWN
Top of 1^st – Rhode Island led off the game with a solo home run to center.
Bottom of 1^st – Gabby Snyder answered in the bottom half of the inning with a solo home run to right, tying the game up at 1-1.
Bottom of 3^rd – Snyder ripped an RBI double to left, scoring Kailee Budicin from first, putting Dayton up 2-1.
Top of 4^th – The Rams tied it up with an RBI single, evening it up once again. They went on to add three more runs to take a 5-2 lead.
