DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team hosts St. Bonaventure Wednesday, Jan. 10 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena in Atlantic 10 action.
The Flyers take on the Bonnies as part of Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer game, raising awareness for pediatric cancer. Fans are invited to wear yellow in support of the cause.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers enter the game with a 10-4 record overall and a 3-0 A-10 mark. UD is currently on a four-game winning streak and boasts a 5-1 home record.
Head coach
Shauna Green is in her second season at the helm of the Flyers after going 22-10 in her first campaign last year. The WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year returns an experienced squad with three seniors, six juniors, and three starters.
As a team, Dayton leads the A-10 in defensive rebounds per game, field-goal percentage defense, scoring margin, and scoring offense. The Flyers are scoring 74.6 points per game while holding opposing teams to 60.3 points. UD is shooting 42.3 percent from the field, 37.0 percent from three-point range, and 71.7 percent from the free throw line.

Jayla Scaife, who is averaging 15.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Seniors
Jenna Burdette and
JaVonna Layfield are adding 14.2 points and 11.0 points respectively, with the latter leading the team with 11.7 rebounds each outing.
SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure comes into the game with a 6-10 record on the season while going 1-2 in the A-10 so far. The Bonnies have struggled away from home, going 1-6 in true road games. Head coach Jesse Fleming is in his second season in charge of his alma mater.
The Bonnies live and die by the three pointer, ranking first in the A-10 in three point field goal percentage defense plus three point field goals made and attempted. SBU is being outscored by opponents 64.6 to 60.6 each game while shooting 37.8 percent overall, 34.2 percent behind the arc, and 73.0 percent from the charity stripe.
Mariah Ruff ranks second in the A-10 in assists and three point field goals attempted, to go with 14.5 pionts per game. Mckenna Maycock is adding 12.4 points and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 47.1 percent from three point range.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton remained unbeaten in A-10 play with a comeback 65-59 victory at Saint Joseph's Sunday. The Flyers trailed by nine and rallied back thanks to 14 fourth-quarter points by Burdette.
St. Bonaventure earned its first win of the conference season with a 69-59 win over Massachusetts on Jan. 6. The Bonnies outscored the Minutewomen 24-12 in the third quarter alone and got a team-high 24 points from Mariah Ruff.
THE SERIES
The Flyers and Bonnies have played 25 times previously with Dayton winning 15 times and St. Bonaventure winning the other 10 meetings. Last season, UD went to Olean, N.Y. and picked up a 62-60 win thanks to a buzzer-beating three-pointer by Christy Macioce.
