DAYTON, Oh. – The University of Dayton's women basketball team won its season home opener with a 67-56 victory versus the University of Indianapolis on Thursday, Nov. 1.  

The Flyers open the season with an exhibition win, while the Greyhounds close out their exhibition series with a record of 0-2.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1^ST Quarter: Dayton 23, Indianapolis 20

• Dayton was the first to score with a three-pointer from senior Lauren Cannatelli in the opening minutes of the game.
• Dayton ended the quarter leading the Greyhounds 23-20, led by redshirt junior Julia Chandler with 8 points.
• Dayton held Indianapolis to a 13-2 run over 2:38 in the first.

• At the first media time out, Dayton led the Greyhounds 30-20, shooting 31.6 percent from the three-point line and 40 percent from the field.
• The Greyhounds went cold on the floor, going scoreless for 3:01.
• The Flyers were aided by redshirt sophomore Araion Bradshaw's seven points in this quarter.
• Heading into the half, the Flyers were scoring 38.5 percent from the field, closely trailing the Greyhounds, who were scoring 40.9 percent.

 
3^rd Quarter: Dayton 55, Indianapolis 37

• Flyers struck first in the first fifteen seconds of play with a free throw taken by Araion Bradshaw.
• Junior Jayla Scaife became the second Flyer to reach double digits behind Chandler, going on to assist the team with 12 points and six rebounds by the first timeout taken by the Greyhounds.
• The Flyers posted their biggest lead with 20 points at the 6:16 minute mark.
• The Greyhounds pushed to respond and close the gap down to 15 points.
• At the media time out, Dayton led Indianapolis 55-37, leading for a total time of 21:52.

 
4^th Quarter: Dayton 67, Indianapolis 56

• Indianapolis came out strong to start the fourth and closed the Dayton lead to 10 points at the first time out, taken by the Flyers.
• The Greyhounds fought through the fourth to slow the Flyers running away with the game, but the Flyers stayed at least 10 points away from Indianapolis down the stretch.
• Dayton posted a 3:28 scoring drought, compared to Indianapolis run of 6-0 over 3:15.
