DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains at home to host Evansville Saturday, Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. after a week off fro Finals Week.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is 3-5 overall and back on the winning track after the home victory over 2018 Sweet Sixteen participant Buffalo last Friday. The Flyers are 3-1 at home this season, averaging an A-10 best 3,251 fans per game.

Head coach Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 48-22 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.

As a team, the Flyers are averaging 63.0 points per game and giving up 64.5 points to opposing teams. Dayton shoots 37.6 percent overall, 32.1 percent from three, and 68.6 percent from the free throw line. UD faces a -4.2 rebounding margin and -3.0 turnover margin as well.

Leading the way is junior Jayla Scaife with team highs of 14.3 points and 7.0 rebounds. Redshirt junior Julia Chandler is contributing 11.5 points and shooting 52.8 percent from the field while senior Lauren Cannatelli is adding 10.6 points and 18 three pointers through eight games.  

SCOUTING EVANSVILLE
Evansville has gotten off to a slow start this season with a 1-7 record overall and currently riding a six-game losing streak. The Purple Aces' lone win did come on the road however at Chicago State and they've lost three of their last four games by less than eight points.

Head coach Matt Ruffing is in his second full season at Evansville and was a former student assistant and manager for Dayton women's basketball prior to his coaching career. He received his UD degree in 2007.

Evansville is scoring just 57.9 points per game and allowing 67.3 points each contest. The Aces are shooting 35.3 percent from the floor, 32.4 percent behind the arc, and 79.5 percent from the charity stripe. Evansville faces a -6.5 rebounding margin and -4.1 turnover margin.

Leading the Aces is Kerri Gasper with 13.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game and has seven steals in eight games. Brooke Bishop is adding 8.6 points each contest and shooting 90.9 percent from the free throw line.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton handed Buffalo its second loss of the season with a 72-59 win at home on Friday. Four players scored in double figures and had two players with double-doubles in the win.

Evansville suffered its sixth straight loss with a tough 54-50 defeat at home to Southeast Missouri State Saturday. The Aces trailed throughout the game despite Kerri Gasper's double-double performance.

THE SERIES
Dayton and Evansville have met 15 times previously with the Flyers winning seven times and the Aces winning eight times. The last meeting took place on Feb. 27, 1993 with UD falling on the road 55-59.

CANNATELLI JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB
Senior Lauren Cannatelli became the 26th Flyer in program history to score 1,000 points after hitting a three at James Madison on Dec. 3. The senior guard joins an elite group of Flyers including hall of famers, all-americans, and players of the year, including her teammate from last season Jenna Burdette.

GREEN NAMED 2018 A-10 COACH OF THE YEAR
Head coach Shauna Green was named A-10 Coach of the Year in just her second year in charge. She guided the Flyers to historic seasons already and has a .746 winning percentage in 60 games.

CANNATELLI SETS THREE-POINT MARK
Senior Lauren Cannatelli set her second Dayton school record last season by hitting her 79th three-pointer of the year on Feb. 24 at Saint Louis. The Cincinnati native surpassed former Flyer Andrea Hoover by making her 79th three-pointer of the campaign, joining her single-game record of 10 made three's from earlier last season.

THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 545 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.

70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 149-18 (.903) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
