DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will travel south to Florida for the West Palm Beach Invitational tournament hosted by Keiser University. The Flyers will take on RV/RV Virginia Tech on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. ET.
SCOUTING DAYTON
Dayton is 4-5 on the year and riding a two-game winning streak after defeating Buffalo and Evansville at home the last two games. The Flyers are still looking for their first win away from home however and will be playing their first neutral site games of the season.
Head coach
Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 49-22 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 63.7 points per game and holding opponents to 60.7 each contest. Dayton is shooting 38.3 percent overall, 31.6 percent from three, and 65.3 percent from the free throw line. UD faces a -0.6 rebounding margin and -2.7 turnover margin.

SCOUTING VIRGINIA TECH
Virginia Tech heads into the tournament with a perfect 10-0 record, winning seven at home, one true road game, and two neutral site contests. The Hokies have a veteran squad with five seniors.
Head coach Kenny Brooks is in just his third season at Virginia Tech, but has 17 years of head coaching experience after coming over from James Madison.
Virginia Tech has been handling its opponents so far this year, scoring 75.3 points per game and giving up just 52.5 points to opponents. The Hokies are shooting 44.1 percent from the floor, 37.7 percent from behind the arc, and 81.0 percent from the charity stripe.
Leading the Hokies is Taylor Emery, who is averaging 17.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game, and Regan Magarity, who is contributing 13.4 points and 14.0 rebounds each contest. Dara Mabrey and Trinity Baptiste are also averaging double figures scoring.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton dominated Evansville last Saturday at home with a 69-30 win over the Aces. The Flyers had a balanced attack with all 14 eligible players seeing action on the night. Scaife led the way with 11 points and nine boards.
Virginia Tech defeated Mount St. Mary's 83-51 at home on Sunday after outscoring the Mount 24-9 in the fourth quarter. Taylor Emery had 24 points to lead the cause.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Virginia Tech have met 13 times previously with the Hokies controlling the series 11 wins to Dayton's two. The last meeting took place back in 2000 with Virginia Tech coming out on top 68-63.
CANNATELLI JOINS 1,000-POINT CLUB

Lauren Cannatelli became the 26th Flyer in program history to score 1,000 points after hitting a three at James Madison on Dec. 3. The senior guard joins an elite group of Flyers including hall of famers, all-americans, and players of the year, including her teammate from last season

CANNATELLI SETS THREE-POINT MARK

Lauren Cannatelli set her second Dayton school record last season by hitting her 79th three-pointer of the year on Feb. 24 at Saint Louis. The Cincinnati native surpassed former Flyer
Andrea Hoover by making her 79th three-pointer of the campaign, joining her single-game record of 10 made three's from earlier last season.
THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 546 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.
FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 89 of its last 108 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.832), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 149-18 (.903) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
