DAYTON -- The University of Dayton Flyers will close out the 2018-19 non-conference season on Saturday, Dec. 29 when Georgia Southern visits Tom Blackburn Court. Â Game time is 3:30 p.m. ET. Â Dayton is 7-5 this season with wins in its last two games. Â UD's losses are to teams with a combined record of 53-7. Â Four of the teams are ranked.

THE NEARLY-TRANSFORMED UD ARENAÂ
The University of Dayton is past the halfway point of a $72 million renovation of its Arena. The transformation of University of Dayton Arena will occur in three phases – from 2017 to 2019.
Phase II included new entrances on three of the four sides, a new box office, new seats in the 300 and 400 levels on the east side and a new and expanded concourse on the east side.

•   Dayton got 37 points from its backcourt of
Jalen Crutcher (19) and
Jordan Davis (18) in the win over Presbyterian last Saturday. Â
•   The Flyers benefitted from perfect performances in the post to beat Western Michigan 85-72 on Dec. 19. Â
Obi Toppin tied the Dayton record for single-game FG% by making all 11 of his shots (6 dunks), and
Josh Cunningham shot 8-for-8 FT en route to a 28-point night.
•   Toppin is currently second nationally in field goal percentage (.716, 68-95).Â
•   Dayton is eighth in the NCAA and leads the Atlantic 10 Conference in FG% (.506, 336-664).  UD is the only team with two players in the A-10 top five (Toppin and Cunningham).Â

Jalen Crutcher is the only player in the A-10's top five in assists (4th, 5.8) and 3-pt. FG% (.447, 34-76). Â He is also seventh in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.59).
•   Toppin came off the bench in UD's 98-59 win over Detroit Mercy to set a UD record with eight dunks in the game.  Toppin had the second double-double of his career with 22 points and 11 rebounds in 25 minutes.
•   Dayton had a team-record 12 dunks vs. UDM as well, besting the old record by three.
•   Crutcher was Dayton's top performer at the Battle4Atlantis, reaching double figures all three games, and averaging 15.0 points and 5.2 assists per contest.  UD was fourth at the B4A.

Trey Landers leads UD in rebounding (7.8). Â He is second in the A-10, and as a 6-foot-5 guard, is the shortest member of the A-10 Top 10.

Ryan Mikesell has the best +/- on the team (+7.25 per game). Â An example of his value to winning is the WMU game, where he did not take a shot in the first 31 minutes of the game, scored just two points but had a +/- for the game of +20.

•   Dayton moves into Atlantic 10 Conference play in the new year, opening with Richmond at home on Sunday, Jan. 6.  Game time is 12 noon ET.Â
