ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The University of Dayton women's basketball team went into a tough environment at Chaifetz Arena and suffered an 85-72 loss to Saint Louis.
The Flyers (22-5, 15-1 A-10) were unable to finish the season unbeaten in A-10 play while Billikens (15-14, 9-7 A-10) move above .500 on the season.

Start of Second half – After Dayton was in control to start the game, Saint Louis managed to tie it up going into the halftime. Out of the break, the Billikens took control of the momentum and put the pressure on the Flyers.
SCORE BREAKDOWN
1ST QUARTER: Dayton 25, Saint Louis 19
- Dayton came right out of the gate with a big three by junior Lauren Cannatelli to take the early lead.
- Saint Louis countered and took a 12-11 lead after pounding it in the paint.
- At the media break, the Flyers held a narrow 17-14 lead thanks to five three-pointers.
- Dayton continued to rely on the deep ball while SLU focused on the inside.
- At the end of the quarter, the Flyers led by six.
- Seven of Dayton's nine made field goals were from behind the arc.
- Cannatelli had a team high nine points.
2ND QUARTER: Dayton 41, Saint Louis 41
- Saint Louis came out strong to start the second and closed the gap.
- Both teams continued to push the pace with defenses having trouble slowing down the attacks.
- Midway through the quarter, the Flyers had extended the lead back to seven at 36-29.
- SLU suffered from a 3:19 stretch without a field goal.
- The Billikens woke up though and tied the game up at 36-36 by the 2:36 mark.
- The score remained even going into the locker room at the half.
- UD shot 48.5 percent in the first half while SLU shot 46.9 percent.
- The Flyers hit nine three's in the first 20 minutes but drew just one foul from the Billikens.
- Cannatelli and senior Jenna Burdette both had 11 points to lead Dayton.
3RD QUARTER: Dayton 59, Saint Louis 65
- The second half started slow wither neither team scoring until a Cannatelli free throw at the 7:53 mark.
- SLU didn't get a point until the 7:14 mark, also on a free throw.
- The first made basket came with 6:41 to play on a three by Burdette.
- The Billikens were forced to take a time out with 6:21 to play after a Dayton run. The Flyers were up 49-43.
- Fouls began to slow the game down and free throws became important for UD. The Flyers had six straight points from the charity stripe over a four minute stretch.
- SLU took momentum and control of the game, leading 61-57 into the final minute.

4TH QUARTER: Dayton 72, Saint Louis 85
- At the 7:13 mark in the fourth, Cannatelli hit her 79th three of the season to set the single season record for Dayton.
- The Billikens continued to lead throughout the fourth, as the Flyers tried to pull closer.
- SLU led by eight at 73-66 halfway through the quarter.
- Dayton suffered from a 3:37 field goal drought while going 0-for-6.
- The Flyers ran out of time down the stretch and suffered their first loss of the A-10 slate.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
79 – In the fourth quarter, Cannatelli hit her fourth three of the game and her 79
th of the season, surpassing former Flyer Andrea Hoover for the single season record in Dayton history.
20:57 to 14:24 – The Flyers led for nearly 21 minutes of the contest while the Billikens led for just 14:24.
35.4 to 47.5 – Dayton shot just 35.4 percent in the game and allowed Saint Louis to shoot 47.5 percent.
