DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will take on No. 8 seed Richmond Friday, March 2 at 11 a.m. in the Atlantic 10 Championship Quarterfinals at the Richmond Coliseum.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers finished the regular season with a 22-5 record overall, a 15-1 A-10 mark, and a regular season conference title. Dayton had a 16-game winning streak before it ended in the final game at Saint Louis. UD is 3-1 in neutral site games this season.
Head coach
Shauna Green is in her second season at the helm of the Flyers after going 22-10 in her first campaign last year. The WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year returns an experienced squad with three seniors, six juniors, and three starters.
As a team, Dayton leads the A-10 in scoring offense, scoring margin, three-point shooting, field-goal percentage defense, and defensive rebounding. The Flyers shoot 43.2 percent from the floor, 39.4 percent from three-point range, and 71.1 percent from the free throw line.

Jenna Burdette, who averages 16.4 points and 4.0 assists per game. Sophomore
Jayla Scaife is adding 14.9 points and 5.1 boards each outing while senior
JaVonna Layfield averages a double-double with 12.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game.
SCOUTING RICHMOND
Richmond is coming off a first round win over Davidson and brings a 14-16 record overall to contest. The Spiders finished the regular season 8-8 and earned the No. 8 seed in the tournament. Head coach Michael Shafer is in his 13th season at UR.
The Spiders are top in the A-10 in steals and turnover margin, causing havoc for opposing offenses. Richmond averages 65.5 points and gives up 65.4 points per game to opponents. The Spiders shoot 36.4 percent overall, 30.4 percent from behind the arc, and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe.
Leading the way for UR is Micaela Parson, who averages 18.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. Alex Parson contributes 10.3 points while Kailyn Fee adds 8.9 points per outing.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton suffered its first loss of the conference season on Feb. 24, falling 85-72 at Saint Louis in the regular season finale. The Flyers had four players in double digits scoring wise, but shot just 21.8 percent in the second half.
Richmond defeated Davidson in the first round of the A-10 Tournament at home Tuesday, 62-53. The Spiders jumped out to an early lead, outscoring the Wildcats 21-8 in the first quarter.
THE SERIES
The Flyers and Spiders have faced each other 23 times with Dayton winning 13 contests and Richmond winning 10 times. In the meeting earlier this season at Richmond, the Flyers battled to a 66-59 victory after having five players in double figures scoring.
