#UDWBB Battles George Washington Sunday On ESPNU

The Flyers are 19-4 On The Season and 12-0 In A-10 Play

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains on the road for a 12 p.m. contest Sunday, Feb. 11 at George Washington for another big Atlantic 10 showdown. The game will be televised on ESPNU with the Flyers looking to avenge their loss to the Colonials at the Smith Center last season.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 with a 12-0 conference mark and boast an 19-4 record overall. UD is currently on a 13-game winning streak and is 6-2 on the road this season.

Head coach Shauna Green is in her second season at the helm of the Flyers after going 22-10 in her first campaign last year. The WBCA National Rookie Coach of the Year returns an experienced squad with three seniors, six juniors, and three starters.

As a team, Dayton is scoring 75.5 points per game and holding opponents to just 61.1 points, good enough for a +14.3 margin. The Flyers shoot 43.4 percent overall, 38.7 percent from three point range, and 71.6 percent from the free throw line. UD also benefits from a +6.7 rebounding margin.

The Flyers are led by senior Jenna Burdette, who is averaging 16.2 points and 3.7 assists per game. Sophomore Jayla Scaife is contributing 15.0 points each outing while senior JaVonna Layfield averages a double-double with 11.9 points and 13.2 rebounds per game.

SCOUTING GEORGE WASHINGTON
George Washington heads into the contest with a 12-11 record on the season and 7-4 record in A-10 play. The Colonials return from a two-game road stretch and are 6-6 at home this season. Head coach Jennifer Rizzotti is in her second season in charge.

The Colonials lead the league in turnover margin and fewest turnovers while forcing close to 18 a game. GW outscores opposing teams 61.1 to 59.7 each contest while shooting 38.6 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from behind the arc, and 74.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Leading the way for the Colonials is Brianna Cummings with 14.6 points and 6.1 rebounds per game with Kelli Prange adding 13.2 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. Mei-Lyn Bautista is the main distributor with 4.2 assists per game.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton went on the road to UMass and left with a 78-49 victory over the Minutewomen, the Flyers 13th-straight win. The Flyers were led by Lauren Cannatelli's 26 points while Alex Harris and JaVonna Layfield both had double-doubles.

GW earned a big win on the road at George Mason Wednesday in an important game for the A-10 standings. The Colonials came out on top 65-61 thanks to 17 points from Kelsi Mahoney and GW getting 22 points from its bench.

THE SERIES
The Flyers and Colonials have met 41 times previously with GW dominating the series, 31 wins to Dayton's 10. The Flyers did win the last meeting earlier this season, 66-55, at UD Arena.

UP NEXT
The Flyers will have a bye week next week before hosting Fordham at UD Arena for Senior Day on Sunday, Feb. 18. Tip-off is at 2 p.m. with the game televised on Spectrum.
