FAIRFAX, Va. - The University of Dayton softball team dropped the finale of its Atlantic 10 series, 5-4, at George Mason Sunday afternoon. Senior Kailee Budicin and freshman Abby Ehrenborg each tallied three hits on the day for the Flyers in the one-run loss.

Dayton moves to 25-23 overall and 12-8 in A-10 action while George Mason improves to 22-24 on the season and 12-8 in conference play.

SCORING BREAKDOWN
George Mason led off the second inning with a triple to the right-field wall and scored the first run of the game on the subsequent Patriot single to hold a 1-0 advantage. In the third, Mason took advantage of four hits, scoring three runs to jump out on UD, 4-0. Dayton matched the three-spot in the top of the fourth after rattling off five hits, including sophomore Ellie Ziegler's two-RBI single, to pull within one, 4-3. A Patriot doubled in a single run in the bottom of frame and held a 5-3lead into the sixth. Sophomore Julia Blarr led off the sixth with her third home run of the season, cutting the Mason lead to one, 5-4, but the patriots held on for the one-run win.
