BRONX, N.Y. - The University of Dayton softball team has advanced to the second day of play at the 2018 Atlantic 10 Championship. Third-seeded Dayton dropped its first game, 2-1, to No. 6 George Washington but staved off elimination by defeating No. 4 George Mason, 4-2, in the nightcap. The Flyers will be playing in the third game of the day tomorrow against the lowest remaining seed of the losers of games four and five.
Dayton finished the day 29-24 while George Washington improved to 33-19. George Mason was eliminated from the tournament with a final record of 22-28.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS

UP NEXT
Dayton will await its opponent for tomorrow evening's elimination game. The Flyers will play the lowest seed between the two losing teams of game four (#1 Massachusetts vs. #5 Saint Louis) and game five (#2 Fordham vs. #George Washington). Game six is set to begin at approximately 5 p.m. Thursday at Fordham's Bahoshy Field.
