The 2-1 Flyers Take On The 1-2 Bonnies

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team continues its road stretch, traveling to St. Bonaventure Wednesday for a 4 p.m. ET contest in Olean, N.Y.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton is 7-7 on the season and 2-1 in Atlantic 10 play. The Flyers are are on a one-game losing streak having the won the three games prior. UD is 0-5 in true road games this season and will look to end that skid Wednesday.

Head coach Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 52-23 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.

As a team, the Flyers are scoring 65.6 points per game and holding opponents to 58.5 points each contest. Dayton is shooting 38.1 percent overall, 31.0 percent from three, and 68.8 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers benefit from a +3.1 rebounding margin, but have to overcome a -1.9 turnover margin.

Dayton is led by junior Jayla Scaife, who is averaging 15.2 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Senior Lauren Cannatelli is adding 11.7 points while shooting 91.4 percent from the free throw line, which leads the A-10 and ranks eighth nationally.

SCOUTING ST. BONAVENTURE
St. Bonaventure has struggled as of late, losing six of its last seven games, and enters this week with a 4-12 mark overall. The Bonnies are 1-2 in the A-10 and 2-4 at home this year.

Head coach Jesse Fleming is in his third season at SBU and has a 21-53 career record as his alma mater.

SBU is being outscored by a -10.2 margin this season, averaging 59.2 points per game. The Bonnies shoot 37.7 percent from the floor, 30.6 percent from behind the arc, and 71.6 percent from the charity stripe.

Leading the Bonnies is Mckenna Maycock and Deja Francis, who are averaging 10.7 and 10.0 points respectively. Emily Calabrese is the leading rebounder on the team with 5.4 baords to go with 6.2 points per game as well.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton is coming off its first conference loss of the season on Saturday, falling 46-45 on the road at George Washington. The Flyers led early, but were outscored 13-5 in the final quarter. UD was just 1-of-13 from three in the game.

St. Bonaventure dropped a 66-41 decision on the road at Saint Joseph's Sunday after being outscored 23-8 in the opening quarter. Deja Francis was the only Bonnie to reach double figures scoring with 10 points.

THE SERIES
Dayton and St. Bonaventure have played 26 times previously with the Flyers winning 16 times and the Bonnies winning 10. The Flyers have two in a row in the series, including last year's meeting in Dayton, 80-59.

IN CONFERENCE PLAY
The Flyers are outscoring opponents by a +7.1 rebounding margin while leading the A-10 in total rebounds per game, defensive rebounds per game, and ranking fourth in the nation in three-point field goal percentage defense.

THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 551 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.

FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 91 of its last 111 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.826), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 152-18 (.903) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.

PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites Duquesne. With two first-place votes and 183 points, the Flyers were picked ahead of Fordham, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.
