DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team heads to Saint Louis Wednesday to take on the Billikens in A-10 action. Tip-off is scheduled for 12 p.m. ET (11 a.m. CT) as part of an Education Day game for SLU.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the week with a 9-7 record on the year, 4-1 Atlantic 10 mark, and a two-game winning streak. The Flyers currently sit in a tie for second place in the conference standings, but are just 1-5 in road games this season.
Head coach
Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 54-23 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 65.8 points per game, but are outscoring opponents in conference play by a +20.2 margin. UD is shooting 38.9 percent overall, 32.3 percent from three, and 66.7 percent from the free throw line. Dayton also has a +4.0 rebounding margin and leads the A-10 with 42.8 per game.
Dayton is led by junior
Jayla Scaife with 15.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game, and has scored in double figures in 15 of UD's 16 games. Senior
Lauren Cannatelli is adding 11.4 points per game and has hit 32 three's this season.
SCOUTING SAINT LOUIS
Saint Louis has had an up and down season so far, going 7-11 overall and 2-3 in A-10 games. The Billikens are 2-6 at home season and 0-2 at Chaifetz Arena in A-10 play.
Head coach Lisa Stone is in her seventh season at SLU, but in her 33rd season as a head coach.
SLU is scoring 62.2 points per game and allowing 63.4 points to opponents. The Billikens shoot 40.6 from the field, 33.6 percent from behind the arc, and 70.5 percent from the free throw line. SLU is outrebounding opponents, but has a -3.2 turnover margin.
Leading the Billikens is freshman Ciaja Harbison, the reigning and six-time A-10 Rookie of the Week. Senior Jordyn Frantz is contributing 13.6 points and shooting 36.4 percent from three as well for a young Saint Louis squad.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton earned its first road conference win of the season, defeating St. Bonaventure 62-49 Wednesday. Jayl Scaife led the way with 12 points and nine rebounds while
Brittany Ward had 10 points and four boards. Â
Saint Louis won on the road at St. Bonaventure Sunday, 62-45, snapping a two game A-10 skid. The Billikens had three players in double figures scoring, led by Brooke Flowers with 17 points and 12 rebounds. SLU held SBU to 29.8 percent shooting in the game.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Saint Louis have met 38 times previously with the Flyers controlling the series with 29 wins compared to the Billikens nine victories. UD will be looking to avenge its only conference loss of the season last year in the regular season finale loss at SLU, 85-72. Prior to that, Dayton had won four in a row.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers lead the Atlantic 10 in rebounds per game and defensive rebounds per game while ranking sixth in the nation in three point field goal percentage defense. Individually,
Lauren Cannatelli leads the A-10 in free throw percentage with a 91.4 percent mark and ranks 10th nationally.
FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 93 of its last 113 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.826), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.

THREE POINTS OF EXCELLENCE
Dayton has hit at least one three-point shot in 553 consecutive games dating back to Jan. 2, 2001, the longest streak in the Atlantic 10 Conference and one of the top streaks in the nation. The Flyers made a program-record 15 three-point field goals against Buffalo in the Connecticut World Vision Classic on Nov. 25, 2011. Dayton tied the record with 15 vs. Wright State on Nov. 28, 2012.
PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites Duquesne. With two first-place votes and 183 points, the Flyers were picked ahead of Fordham, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.

The Atlantic 10 released its preseason all-conference teams and recognized a pair of Flyers as junior
Jayla Scaife was named First Team All-Conference as well as All-Defensive Team while senior
Lauren Cannatelli was named Second Team All-Conference.
70'S THE MAGIC NUMBER
Since the 2009-10 season, Dayton is 153-18 (.903) when scoring 70 or more points, including 11-1 in 2016-17. During the 2010-11, 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons, the Flyers only lost one game per season when scoring at least 70 points, and dropped only two games in 2009-10 when reaching that mark.
