This was the Flyers' first and only exhibition before opening the season on Tuesday.

- Ashland went on a 6-0 run in the middle of the third quarter to cut the lead down to just one point, 39-38.Â
- After trading baskets, the Eagles hit a three to take their first lead since the first quarter with 3:43 left. Â
- Redshirt junior Araion Bradshaw converted a three-point play to give the Flyers a 53-51 lead with just over two seconds left in the quarter.
- Ashland hit a three-point shot from near the logo to take a 54-53 lead entering the fourth quarter.

4th Quarter: Dayton 77, Ashland 67
- Scaife opened the fourth quarter with three straight three-pointers to give Dayton a 62-54 lead.
- The Flyers started to shoot well making 7-of-10 from the field down the stretch.
- Ashland stayed in the game making 5-of-6 shots, but were unable to get a stop.
- Scaife led the team with 28 points including 14 points in the fourth quarter.
