The Flyers And Chippewas Tip-off At 12 p.m. ET

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team continues its road stretch by traveling to Central Michigan Thursday, Nov. 21 for a 12 p.m. tipoff at McGuirik Arena.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton got back on the winning track last weekend and now sits at 3-1 on the year, with the lone loss coming to No. 6 South Carolina. The Flyers are 2-0 on the road this season.

Head coach Shauna Green is in her fourth season in charge of the Flyers and already has two tournament and one regular season conference titles, as well as being the former A-10 Coach of the Year in 2018.

As a team, the Flyers are scoring 65.5 points per game and holding opponents to 59.2 each contest. Dayton shoots 34.8 percent overall, 30.6 percent from three, and 71.3 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers benefit from a +10.3 rebounding margin and positive turnover margin.

Dayton is led by seniors Shakeela Fowler (11.8 ppg, 3.0 apt) and Jayla Scaife (11.8 ppg, 6.8 rpb), who lead the team in scoring. Redshirt junior Erin Whalen has chipped in 11.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game as well. Senior Jenna Giacone has provided a spark off the bench, averaging 11.0 points and shooting 44 percent from three.

SCOUTING CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Central Michigan has had a tough start to the season, going 0-3, but has faced a gauntlet of a schedule with Green Bay, Louisville, and Western Kentucky. The Chippewas are 0-1 at home this year.

Head coach Heather Oesterle is in her first season in charge of CMU after serving the past nine seasons as an assistant. She took over for predecessor Sue Guevara.

This season, Central Michigan has not had trouble scoring, averaging 75.3 points per game, but is allowing an astonishing 93.3 points to opposing squads. The Chippewas are shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 31.9 percent from behind the arc, and 75.4 percent from the charity stripe. CMU has to overcome -14.7 rebounding and -4.0 turnover margins.

The Chippewas have a pair of offensive threats in Micaela Kelly (20.0 ppg, 3.0 apg) and Kyra Bussell (17.0 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 60% FG). Maddy Watters is adding 11.0 points per game and shooting 52.9 percent from three as well.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton went on the road and earned a 71-60 victory at Northeastern, avenging the lone home loss from last season. Scaife led the Flyers with a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double performance.

Central Michigan suffered its biggest loss of the season, falling 93-58 at Western Kentucky on Sunday. The Chippewas allowed 26 or more points in three of the four quarters and scored 14 points or less in three of their own.

THE SERIES
Dayton and Central Michigan have faced off 11 times previously with The Flyers winning six times and the Chippewas winning five times. The series began in 1969 and the two teams last met in 2014. UD is 2-3 on the road in the series, but riding a three-game winning streak.

STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers rank 16th in the nation in rebounds and top 40 in rebounds per game, free throw attempts, and free throws made.
