DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team hosts Davidson Wednesday, Feb. 20 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton heads into the week with a 13-10 record overall and an 8-4 Atlantic 10 mark, sitting in fourth in the conference standings. The Flyers are 10-1 at home this year having not lost at UD Arena since Nov. 17.
Head coach
Shauna Green is the reigning A-10 Coach of the Year and is in her third season at the helm of the Flyers. With a 58-26 record at Dayton and three conference titles, expectations are high for the program.
As a team, the Flyers are averaging 65.9 points per game and holding opponents to 59.3 points each contest. Dayton shoots 37.3 percent overall, 32 percent from three point range, and 69.9 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers have a +3.3 rebounding margin but have to overcome a -0.2 turnover margin.
Dayton is led by junior
Jayla Scaife, who is averaging 15.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game and has 19 double-digit scoring games this season. Senior
Lauren Cannatelli is chipping in 13.1 points each contest as well.
SCOUTING DAVIDSON
Davidson comes to Dayton with a 15-10 record overall and a 9-3 mark in conference play. The Wildcats sit in third in the league and have a 7-7 record on the road this season.
Head coach Gayle Coats Fulks is in just her second season in charge of Davidson after leading the Wildcats to a 12-18 record in her first year.
Davidson is scoring 66.6 points per game and giving up just 61.0 points to opponents. The Wildcats are shooting 39.5 percent from the field, 31.1 percent from behind the arc, and 74.4 percent from the charity stripe. Davidson leads the A-10 in scoring, turnovers forced, turnover margin, and free throw percentage.
The Wildcats have four players averaging double digit scoring, led by Katie Turner with 13.4 points and 4.5 assists per game. Sarah Donovan also adds 12.7 points and leads the A-10 with 9.0 rebounds per game.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton rode a strong fourth quarter to a 62-53 win over George Washington Sunday. The Flyers outscored the Colonials 25-14 in the final period, including a 15-0 run over a five minute stretch.
Davidson picked up a 64-49 win over Massachusetts on the road Saturday after outscoring the Minutewomen 38-14 in the first half. Katie Turner led Davidson with 17 points.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Davidson have played four times previously with the Flyers winning all four contests. Last season, UD earned an 85-68 win on the road at Davidson on Jan. 27.
STATISTICAL RANKINGS
The Flyers rank fifth in the nation in defensive rebounds per game and seventh in three-point field goal percentage defense. Dayton also leads the A-10 in rebounds per game as well. Individually,

Lauren Cannatelli made her 240th career three pointer on Feb. 14 at VCU, breaking the all-time mark in Dayton history. FLYERS IN REGULAR SEASON LEAGUE PLAY
Dayton has won 97 of its last 120 regular season Atlantic 10 games (.817), a streak that dates back to a 97-46 win over Rhode Island on Jan. 7, 2012, and includes a perfect 14-0 mark in conference play during the 2012-13 season.
PRESEASON POLL
Dayton was picked to finish second in the Atlantic 10 preseason poll behind conference favorites Duquesne. With two first-place votes and 183 points, the Flyers were picked ahead of Fordham, George Washington, and Saint Joseph's.
