Dayton Back Home To Host Saint Louis Saturday Afternoon

Flyers Will Wear Red To Celebrate American Heart Month

DAYTON -- The University of Dayton Flyers return home Saturday when they host the Saint Louis Billikens.  Game time is 4 p.m. ET.  Dayton is 17-9 this season, and is in third place (tied with George Mason) in the A-10 with a 9-4 record.  SLU is 17-9 and 8-5.  The Billikens took the first meeting between the two teams 73-60 in St. Louis on Feb. 6.  That is the only one of UD's last five defeats that was decided by five points or less.  UD's losses are to teams with a combined record of 167-70 (.705 winning percentage).

The game will carried by WHIO Radio, and televised on the CBS Sports Network.  Streaming audio, streaming video and stats will be available at DaytonFlyers.com.

THE NEARLY-TRANSFORMED UD ARENA
The University of Dayton is past the halfway point of a $72 million renovation of its Arena. The transformation of University of Dayton Arena will occur in three phases – from 2017 to 2019.
Phase II included new entrances on three of the four sides, a new box office, new seats in the 300 and 400 levels on the east side and a new and expanded concourse on the east side.

#TRENDING
•    Josh Cunningham's free throw with 2.2 seconds left lifted Dayton to a 74-73 win at Davidson on Tuesday, snapping the Wildcats' 17-game home court winning streak.
•    Obi Toppin is third in the nation in field goal percentage, behind Gonzaga's Brandon Clarke and Duke's Zion Willliamson.  Toppin is shooting .673 (153-226) for the year.
•    Toppin's 65 dunks are two away from the UD single-season record set by Chris Wright in 2009-10.  The 65 dunks are also third in D-I this season, eight behind Daniel Gafford of Arkansas, and one behind Texas' Jaxon Hayes.
•    Cunningham is 12th in FG% (.628, 130-207).   No other team has two in the top 20, and only one other (Gonzaga) has 2 in the top 25.
•    Dayton is fourth in the NCAA (behind Gonzaga, Tennessee and South Dakota State) and leads the Atlantic 10 in FG% (.502, 721-1436).  UD shot .633 (31-49) at Rhode Island.
•    The Flyers have found themselves behind 10 points or more and battled back to take a lead in seven games this year.  The have come back from double-digit second-half deficits to win three times (at GW, at SBU and Duquesne at home) this year.
•    Jalen Crutcher is second in the A-10 in assists (5.7). He is only one of two players in the A-10's top ten in assists, assist-to-turnover ratio (2.3), 3-pt. FG per game (8th, 2.2),  and minutes (8th, 36.1).  Richmond's Jacob Gilyard is the other.
•    The Flyers matched last year's win total (14) before Feb. 1.
•    The Final Five Dayton's home games have been declared sellouts.  That gives the Flyers eight for the season, tying the UD Arena record, set in the Arena's first year (1969-70).

UP NEXT
•    The Flyers play at UMass Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. ET.
•    Dayton's next game at home is Friday, March 1 against Rhode Island at 7 p.m. ET.
