CHARLESTON, S.C. - The University of Dayton softball team split its games on the final day of the Charleston Southern Willie Jewell Invitational. Dayton fell to South Dakota, 18-0 (5), Saturday morning and bested host Charleston Southern 3-2 in the nightcap.

Dayton is now 3-2 after its opening weekend of the 2019 season. South Dakota is 3-1 while Charleston Southern is 3-2 after Saturday's games.

Winning Pitcher: Jessica Weaver (1-0) - one earned run on five hits and zero walks to three strikeouts
Save: Jessica Gilliam (1) - zero earned runs on one hits with one walk and one strikeout
Losing Pitcher: A. Pilgrim (1-2) - three earned runs on six hits and one walk to two strikeouts

Dayton will head to Tennessee next weekend for the Chattanooga Challenge Feb. 15-17. In addition to host Chattanooga, UD will also face off against Toledo, Indiana State, Kennesaw State and Tennessee Tech during the three-day event.
