DAYTON. - The University of Dayton women's basketball team held on to beat Fordham on Sunday by a score of 48-44. The Flyers stout defense in the first quarter held Fordham to just three points, which tied a program record.
The Flyers (14-7, 7-0 A-10) remain undefeated in conference play and extended their winning streak to nine while the Rams fall to 12-7 and 4-2 in A-10 play.
KEY MOMENT
Dayton held Fordham to just 10 points and four field goals in the first half. This was the fewest points an opponent has scored against the Flyers in a half this season.

- A Fordham three-pointer capped off an 8-0 run and tied the game at 35 with 5:00 remaining.
- The Flyers followed with a 5-0 run of their own over 3 minutes to go back up 40-35.
- A pair of made free throws from Kyla Whitehead gave Dayton a 4-point lead with under 40 seconds to play.
- Following a Fordman basketball to cut it to two, Jordan Wilmoth and Erin Whalen each hit two free throws to seal the win.

Kyla Whitehead recorded her second double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Jayla Scaife had her second straight 20 point game with 21. She also had 10 rebounds making this her 2nd double-double of the season.
