GREENSBORO, N.C. - The University of Dayton softball team split its games on the second day of the UNCG Spartan Classic. Dayton blanked Appalachian State, 2-0, before falling to host UNCG, 9-1 in six innings.

Dayton is now 4-9 on the season while Appalachian State moved to 10-7 overall and UNCG finished the day with a 10-5 record.

KEY STATS
• 0.00 - senior Jessica Weaver posted a 0.00 ERA in her complete-game shutout against Appalachian State. In 7.0 innings of work, Weaver gave up zero runs on seven hits and struck out five to zero walks
• 6 - freshman Sarah Bailitz tallied six strikeouts in 3.2 innings of relief against UNCG in the nightcap
• 4 - four Flyers posted multi-hit games
• 3 - junior Briley Sidor and sophomore Lillie Knesel each tallied three hits on the day
• HR - junior Abby Ehrenborg knocked a ball over the center field fence against App. State, her team-best fifth home run of the season

Dayton will close out play at the Spartan Classic Sunday morning against host UNCG. First pitch between the Flyers and Spartans is set for 10 a.m. at UNCG Softball Stadium. Admission is free.
