MOREHEAD, Ky. - The University of Dayton softball team claimed a midweek doubleheader sweep at Morehead State Wednesday defeating the Eagles 2-1 and 5-1. Freshman pitcher
Sarah Bailitz earned two wins in the circle for the Flyers.
Dayton improves to 8-12 on the year while Morehead State moves to 6-10 overall.
After working 5.1 innings in game one, Bailitz (3-5) struck out a career-high nine batters while senior
Jessica Weaver collected her second save of the season after holding off the Eagles' offense. In the second game,
Catherine Jensen worked 3.1 innings followed by two innings of middle relief from
Olivia Lessmann. Bailitz struck out two more batters to close out game two and was the pitcher of record when Dayton took the lead in the top of the seventh.

Alyssa Cacini knocked out two home runs on the day including what proved to be the game-winning grand slam in the top of the seventh inning of the second game.
• 5 - junior
Abby Ehrenborg was 5-for-8 at the plate and recorded 11 putouts and two assists on the day
• 9 - Bailitz tallied a career-high nine strikeouts in Dayton's 2-1 game-one win
• 15 - on the day, Dayton out-hit Morehead State 15 to five.

Dayton is set to open the home portion of its schedule Friday as it plays host to Wright State for a 2 p.m. doubleheader. On Saturday, Dayton will square off against Western Michigan for an 11 a.m. doubleheader at home. All games will be played at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.
