Box Score DAYTON – The No. 1 seeded University of Dayton women's basketball team advanced past the No. 9 seeded Richmond with a 79-68 win in the quarterfinals of the 2020 Atlantic 10 Women's Basketball Championship.
The Flyers improved to 23-8 overall. They entered the tournament as the top seed and after earning a first round bye, will now advance to the semifinals.

GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 33, Richmond 17
- Richmond scored the first points of the game on a trey, giving them a 3-0 lead. The Flyers were not able to convert on their first four attempts from the field.
- Dayton then went on a 16-3 run that forced a Spiders' timeout with 4:59 to play in the quarter; The Flyers shot 6-of-6 from the field and 4-of-4 from beyond the arc in that stretch.
- The Flyers kept the pressure on, allowing Richmond only one shot from beyond the arc and a total of 11 points, while extending their lead to 16 points.
- Erin Whalen led the Flyers in the quarter with 12 points, shooting 4-of-4 from beyond the arc.

- Leading into a media timeout with 4:49 left in the first half, Richmond was able to narrowly outscore the Flyers 5-2.
- After Whalen was sent to the line, making all three free throws, Dayton made three in a row from beyond the arc while only allowing the Spiders four points.
- Richmond narrowly outscored Dayton 8-7 to finish the quarter.
- Dayton shot 6-of-14 (42.9%) from the field and 4-of-8 (50%) from beyond the arc.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 74, Richmond 59
- Dayton opened the second half by outscoring Richmond 4-3.
- The Spiders responded with a 6-0 run that cut Dayton's lead to 61-48.
- Both teams exchanged seven points to bring the score to 68-55 before Richmond called a timeout with 1:15 left in the quarter.
- The quarter ended with each team adding another six points.
- Dayton shot 5-of-11 (45.5%) from the field and 2-of-4 (50%) from beyond the arc.
- The Flyers outrebounded the Spiders 10-5 largely due to Araion Bradshaw and Kyla Whitehead pulling in three each.

4th Quarter: Dayton 79, Richmond 68
- The Spiders started the quarter with a 7-0 run that brought Dayton's lead to 74-66 with 2:49 left in the game before Chandler scored the first points for the Flyers.
- The Flyers shot 3-of-4 (75%) from the line whereas Richmond shot only 50 percent.
