DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball team held off a late rally by visiting Davidson to claim a 64-58 Atlantic 10 win. Senior

Tenin Magassa led the Flyers offensively with 19 points each.
Dayton improves to 6-1 on the season and remains undefeated in league action, 5-0. Davidson moves to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in A-10 play. The Wildcats were led by Chloe Welch with 22 points and Adelaide Fuller added 18 points.
KEY MOMENT
With five-and-a-half minutes left in the second quarter, Davidson tied the game at 22 points apiece with two made free throws. Dayton closed out the frame with an 11-3 run and the Flyers would never relinquish their lead.
GAME BREAKDOWN
First Quarter: Dayton 16, Davidson 12
• Davidson scored the first four points of the game and held the 10-2 advantage with just under six minutes remaining in the first frame.
• Behind the strength of a 12-0 run over the last five minutes of the quarter, the Flyers pulled in front of the Wildcats, 16-12.

• Whalen's three at the 1:14 mark gave the Flyers its largest lead of the first half, 33-25.
• Dayton held Davidson scoreless for the last 2:38 of the second quarter.
• Leading all scorers, Whalen tallied 12 points to go with four rebounds in the first half.
Third Quarter: Dayton 51, Davidson 38
• After trailing Dayton by as many as 13, 38-25, Davidson rattled off seven unanswered points to pull within six, 38-32, at the 6:24 mark.
• With her 14th point of the game, a jump shot with 2:37 left to play in the third, Whalen recorded her 1,000th career point.
• The Flyers again stretched their lead back to 13, 51-38, on a fast-break layup from Magassa with 2:20 on the game clock.
• Magassa was the Flyers' leading scorer in the third, sinking all four of her shot attempts for eight points.
Fourth Quarter: Dayton 64, Davidson 58
• Dayton enjoyed its largest lead of the game in the fourth quarter, an 18-point advantage, 59-41 at the 7:01 mark
• The Wildcats scored eight unanswered points over the next two-plus minutes to get within 10, 59-49.
• Davidson held Dayton scoreless over the last 3:33 of the game while scoring nine points.
