DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team will travel to Illinois State University Sunday afternoon for a 3 p.m ET contest at Redbird Arena. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton heads back out on the road with a 5-2 record on the season and winners of four of its last five games. The Flyers are 1-0 in true road games this year with an away win at Purdue. Sunday's game starts a 29-day road stretch.

Shauna Green is in her sixth season in charge of the Flyers and was named Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year 2020, her second time at UD. She earned her 100th win at Dayton in the regular season final last year.
As a team this year, Dayton is scoring 65.9 points per game and holding opponents to 58.0 points each outing. The Flyers are shooting 38.8 percent overall, 35.4 percent from three point range, and 65.0 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from +4.7 rebounding and +1.6 turnover margins.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS ST.
Illinois St. hosts UD for its second straight home game and enters the weekend with a 2-5 record on the season. The Redbirds are 1-1 at home this year and recently ended a four-game losing skid with a win at home against Missouri Baptist Wednesday morning.
Head coach Kristen Gillespie is in her fifth season at the helm of the Redbirds and has previous experience at Lewis and Benedictine.
This season, ISU is averaging 65.0 points each outing and allowing 62.3 points to opposing squads. The Redbirds have shot well from the field with a 45.2 percentage overall, 34.1 percent from behind the arc, and 76.3 percent from the charity stripe. Illinois St. also has positive rebounding and turnover margins similar to the Flyers.
The Redbirds are led by DeAnna Wilson, who is averaging 12.9 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, and Juliunn Redmond, who is contributing 10.9 points, 4.1 boards, and 3.1 assists each outing.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton hosted Florida A&M Tuesday night and earned a 20-point victory with a 64-44 win at UD Arena. Whalen had a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds and Giacone had a team-high 19 points in the effort.
Illinois State also had a home game, hosting Missouri Baptist Wednesday morning for their School Day. The Redbirds dominated from start to finish and won 91-42. ISU scored over 20 points every quarter while not allowing more than 13 points in a period. Kenzie Bowers had 17 points.
THE SERIES
Dayton and Illinois State have played three times previously with the Flyers holding a 2-1 series advantage. The two teams last faced each other on Feb. 10, 1982 with UD coming out on top at home 55-53.
