DAYTON – The University of Dayton women's basketball was defeated by Saint Louis on Saturday 64-57.

Dayton becomes 12-2 overall and 11-1 in conference play while SLU moved to 10-3 on the season and 8-3 in the A-10.

st Quarter: Dayton 12, SLU 8
- The Flyers came out strong, going into the first media timeout looking to continue an 8-0 run and build on their 12-4 lead.
- SLU broke the Flyers streak to help bring the Billikens up 12-8 going into the final minute of the quarter.
- Both teams held fast on defense leading to each side experiencing scoring droughts lasting over 3 minutes in the first quarter.
- Freshman Tenin Megassa helped to lead the Flyers with 5 rebounds.

nd Quarter: Dayton 25, VCU 27
- Erin Whalen broke a scoring drought for the Flyers with a three-pointer going into the seventh minute of the quarter.
- The Billikens took the lead 19-17 after some big plays from both sides, but the Flyers were quick to tie it up going into the media timeout.
- The second quarter proved very evenly matched with the score being tied at five different times during the period.
- The period ended with a Billiken jumper for them to take the lead over the Flyers 27-25 going into the break.
- Redshirt senior Erin Whalen led the Flyers offence with 9 points in the first half.

rd Quarter: Dayton 45, SLU 46
- Saint Louis started the second half strong with a 10-point run forcing a Flyers timeout.
- The Flyers started their fight back with a 7-0 run following the media timeout.
- Dayton's defense held strong leading to a Billiken scoring drought of over 4 minutes including 3 SLU turn overs in that time.
- A three from Erin Whalen and a field goal from Kyla Whitehead brought the Flyers to within 2 points going into the second to last minute.
- A hard-driven layup by Kyla Whitehead to tie her season high made the score 45-46 going into the final quarter.

th Quarter: Dayton 57, SLU 64
- Dayton began to hit their stride leading to a 7-0 run and a lead of 52-50, forcing a SLU timeout.
- Another three-pointer from Erin Whalen off an assist from Araion Bradshaw proved to be one of the highlights of the quarter.
- Both teams fought hard and the score remained tight going into the last two minutes, defense was the name of the game.
- In the end the Billikens took the game, making 5 of their last 6 field goals.
