PHILADELPHIA – The University of Dayton women's basketball team outscored Saint Joseph's 31-19 in the second half to earn a 55-43 victory Friday night.
Dayton (9-1, 8-0 A-10) lead the Atlantic 10 while the Hawks (5-3, 3-3 A-10) move to .500 in league play.

"Another tough road win," said head coach
Shauna Green. "It was a physical, tough game and I'm happy with how we responded defensively in the second half. We talk all the time about finding a way to win even when our shots aren't falling. Our defense came through and that is what we hang our hat on. I am proud of our team."

- The Hawks took the lead 16-15 at the 8:17 mark on a jump shot.
- Bradshaw had a nice drive and was fouled to put UD back on top midway through the second.
- The two teams continued to trade baskets and it stayed a one-point game for the next few minutes.
- For the second straight game the Flyers went into the locker room at halftime tied.

rd Quarter: Dayton 40, Saint Joseph's 31
- The score stayed even at 24-24 over the first two minutes with neither team willing to budge.
- Bradshaw was the first player to score in the second half with a pair of free throws at the 7:30 mark.
- Redshirt senior Jenna Giacone drilled a three at the 2:08 mark to give UD it's biggest lead of the game at 39-31.
- Bradshaw led the way down the stretch with a couple of clutch free throws and big shots to give her double digits in the game and put UD up 40-31.

th Quarter: Dayton 55, Saint Joseph's 43
- Saint Joseph's entered the fourth with a 4+ minute scoring drought.
- The Hawks were forced to call a timeout at the 8:40 mark on a drive by Giacone giving the Flyers a 45-31 lead.
- With 4:04 to play, Saint Joseph's hit two free throws to cut the margin to 50-41.
- The Hawks called a timeout with 2:16 in the game as they trailed 53-43.
- Dayton was able to hold off the hosts to pick up its eighth straight victory.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
39 to 32 – Dayton outrebounded Saint Joseph's 39-32 in the game, including 28-20 on defensive rebounds.

Jenna Giacone scored a team-high 15 points and went 3-of-4 from three to go with five rebounds and three assists.
