Women’s Basketball Ends Season With Defeat To Bowling Green

The Flyers Fell 77-76 In The WNIT Consolation Bracket

ROCKFORD, Ill.  – The University of Dayton women's basketball team played in the consolation bracket of the WNIT and came up short to Bowling Green 77-76.

The Flyers (14-5) end their postseason while the Falcons (21-7) have one more game to play Monday.

COACH'S COMMENTS
"We came out and executed at an elite level on both ends," said head coach Shauna Green. "Then BG made a run and our defense wasn't as disciplined. We showed fight to battle back to have an opportunity at the end of the game. We were to inconsistent and had too many turnovers."

About the season as a whole:
"The season obviously didn't end the way we wanted it to, but it does not take away from the success and resiliency this team had," Green continued. "Throughout the most trying season, this team battled and learned a lot of critical lessons that will guide us going into this offseason. We will take both the good and the bad from this year and use it as motivation going forward. I'm extremely proud of this group."
