LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Dayton softball team won both of its games on the first day of the Bellarmine Classic Saturday. UD opened the day with a 7-1 win over Bellarmine and then picked up a six-inning, 8-0 win over IUPUI in the nightcap.
Dayton has evened its record at 2-2 on the season.
GAME ONE
Dayton 7, Bellarmine 1
- Sophomore Sarah Bailitz tossed a complete game to earn Dayton its first win of the season. Â
- Centerfielder Emily Daniel went 3-for-4 and scored a pair of runs, while Quinn Pallardy was 2-for-3 with three RBI and Megan Ward was 2-for-4.
- Winning Pitcher: Â Sarah Bailitz (1-0)
- Losing Pitcher: Â Megan Murphy (1-1)
GAME TWO
Dayton 8, IUPUI 0 (6 inn.)
- Freshman Addy Bullis set down the first 17 batters she faced in tossing a one-hit shutout. She recorded a career-high seven strikeouts in her first career complete game.
- Senior catcher Abby Ehrenborg blasted a pair of two-run homers (one in the first and one in the third) to give the Flyers all the runs they needed.
- Ehrenborg has four home runs and seven RBI in four games this season.

- Losing Pitcher: Â Brooke York (0-3)
