OLEAN, N.Y. - The University of Dayton softball team split its Atlantic 10 doubleheader at St. Bonaventure Friday, shutting out the Bonnies 5-0 in game one and falling, 6-5, in the nightcap on a walk-off home run.
After Friday's games, Dayton is now 16-23 overall and 11-7 in conference games while St. Bonaventure moves to 1-21 on the season and 1-17 in league action.
GAME ONE
Dayton 5, St. Bonaventure 0
• 13 - freshman left-handed pitcher
Addy Bullis tallied a career-high 13 strikeouts on her way to a complete-game shut out
• 13 - senior
Abby Ehrenborg knocked out her 13th home run of the season in her first at-bat of the game
• 2 - junior
Alyssa Cacini recorded the contest's only multi-hit game after going 2-for-3 at the plate with one run scored and one RBI
Winning Pitcher: Bullis (9-6) - 7.0 IP, zero earned runs on four hits with 13 strikeouts to one walk
Losing Pitcher: Tierney Fitzgerald (0-7) - 7.0 IP, two earned runs on seven hits with zero strikeouts to three walks
GAME TWO
St. Bonaventure 6, Dayton 5
• 10 - as a team, the Flyers tallied a total of 10 hits, the ninth time this season the team has posted double-digit hits
• 4 - freshman
Megan Ward was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate, including knocking out her first career collegiate home run
• 3 - sophomore
Quinn Pallardy also posted a multi-hit game after going 3-for-4
Winning Pitcher: Fitzgerald (1-7) - 1.2 IP, one earned run on three hits with three strikeouts to zero walks
Losing Pitcher:
Kelsey Gumm (3-7) - 0.1 IP, one earned run on two hits
UP NEXT
Dayton and St. Bonaventure will close out their four-game conference series Saturday with two more games. First pitch is set for 12 p.m. at SBU's Joyce Field. Both games will be available via live stream on ESPN+ and live stats.
