DAVIDSON, N.C.  – The University of Dayton women's basketball team went to Davidson College Sunday and earned a 70-60 victory in Atlantic 10 play.
The Flyers (16-3, 7-0 A-10) stay unbeaten in conference play while the Wildcats (12-7, 3-4 A-10) drop their fourth league game.

rd quarter – Dayton outscored Davidson 21-4 in the third quarter alone and pulled ahead by double-digits.
1st Quarter: Dayton 21, Davidson 19
	- Davidson was the first team to strike with a layup at the 8:58 mark, but sophomore Makira Cook answered with a corner three.
- Both teams got off to a slow start offensively as the Flyers had just one field goal a couple of free throws in the opening four minutes, but led 7-5.
- By the media break, the score was 13-11 in Davidson's favor as the hosts were on a 5-0 run.
- Graduate student Jenna Giacone hit a three out of the timeout to put UD back on top. She added a pair of free throws to add to the advantage.
- Fellow graduate student Erin Whalen drilled a three on the final possession of the quarter to give the Flyers the two-point lead.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 32, Davidson 34
	- The Flyers and Wildcats traded buckets in the opening three minutes of the second with neither team willing to budge.
- Midway through the quarter, Dayton held a 27-26 lead over Davidson.
- The Wildcats hit a three out of the break to take back the lead, but Giacone answered with another three, giving her double-digit points for the game.
- Fouls started to accumulate for the Flyers, forcing the bench to step up.
- UD trailed at the half despite outshooting Davidson 45.8 percent to 34.3 percent.
- The Flyers controlled the boards as well, outrebounding the Wildcats 23-14.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 53, Davidson 38
	- Cook hit a pull up jumper to even the score early in the second half.
- The pace of the game continued to be intense as neither team wanted to give up momentum.
- At the media timeout, the score was 38-36 in favor of UD as neither team had a field goal for over two minutes.
- The Flyers went on an 8-0 run and forced a Davidson timeout with 3:13 to play and a 44-36 lead.
- A pair of free throws for the Wildcats ended a nearly five minute drought. By that point however, Dayton had its lead to double-digits.
- The Flyers outscored the Wildcats 21-4 in the third quarter alone.
4th Quarter: Dayton 70, Davidson 60
	- UD looked to maintain its 15-point lead and kept the foot on the gas to start the fourth.
- The Flyers scored eight points in the first three minutes including four from junior Mariah Perez.
- Midway through the quarter, it was a 63-47 Dayton lead.
- Davidson clawed away at the margin and pulled within seven points and under one minute to play in regulation.
- It was down to the Flyers hitting free throws to keep the Wildcats out of reach and they were able to accomplish that.

Makira Cook had a game-high 18 points to go with three steals.

Araion Bradshaw added seven points, eight rebounds, and a season-high eight assists.

Mariah Perez had a season-high eight points off the bench to go with six rebounds and two blocks.

Kyla Whitehead had a new career-high with 15 rebounds.
42.6% - Dayton shot 42.6 percent from the floor and held Davidson to 30.8 percent.
53-31 – The Flyers outrebounded the Wildcats 53-31 and had 16 offensive rebounds.
