Women's Basketball Hosts Northern Kentucky Thursday

The Flyers Tip-off At 7 p.m.

DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team returns home to host Northern Kentucky University Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7 p.m. at UD Arena.

SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton enters the game with an 0-3 record after hard-fought losses to Providence, Illinois State, and Akron. UD is 0-1 at home this season and looks to earn its first win of the year.

Head coach Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her first season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.

As a team this year, the Flyers are averaging  66.3 points per game while giving up 76.0 points to opposing teams. UD is shooting 40.9 percent overall, 36.7 percent from three point range, and and 72.5 percent from the free throw line. The Flyers are outrebounding opponents by a +5.0 margin as well.

Dayton is led by redshirt junior Destiny Bohanon with 15.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while freshman Nayo Lear is contributing 11.7  points each contest.

SCOUTING NORTHERN KENTUCKY
Northern Kentucky comes to Dayton with a 1-1 record on the season, defeating Lipscomb on Nov. 10 in triple-overtime.

Head Coach Camryn Whitaker is in her seventh season at the helm, and was a former assistant at Dayton.

As a team, the Norse are scoring 77.5 points per game and allowing 86.0 points to opposing squads. NKU is shooting 39.4 percent from the field, 23.9 percent from behind the arc, and 58.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Individually, NKU is led by Lindsey Duvall with 24.0 points and 14.0 rebounds per game while Kailee Davis is adding 16.0 points and Khamari Mitchell-Steen is chipping in 13.0 points each outing.

LAST TIME OUT
Dayton suffered a 69-85 loss on the road to Akron Saturday despite three players scoring in double figures. Anyssa Jones led the way with 18 points while Shannon Wheeler added 11 points and Maliya Perry had 10 in the effort.

Northern Kentucky had its first loss of the season with a 54-77 defeat at Kent State Sunday. Leading scorer Lindsey Duvall had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 10th meeting in the series and the first time since 1984. The Flyers hold a 6-3 lead in the series and winners of the last two matchups.

STATISTICAL RANKINGS
Individually, Destiny Bohanon ranks sixth in the nation in minutes played and is 59th in three pointers per game.


UP NEXT
The Flyers will travel to the Bahamas for Thanksgiving Week to compete in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship at the Baha Mar Convention Center in Nassau. Dayton will face RV/RV Ole Miss Monday, Nov. 21 before facing RV Kentucky on Wednesday, Nov. 23.
