DAYTON - The University of Dayton women's basketball team remains at home to host the University of Florida on Sunday, Dec. 4 at 1 p.m. at UD Arena.
SCOUTING THE FLYERS
Dayton has faced a challenging schedule to start this season, playing its third SEC team in the past four games on Sunday. The Flyers are 0-7 on the year and 0-3 at home with all three games being decided in over time or by one point.
Head coach
Tamika Williams-Jeter is in her first season in charge of her hometown Flyers, coming over after a year at Wittenberg. She has assistant coaching stops at Kansas, Kentucky, Penn State, and Ohio State.
As a team this year, the Flyers are averaging 60.3 points per outing and giving up 70.7 points to opponents. Dayton is shooting 38.5 percent overall, 30.7 percent from three point range, and 70.3 percent from the free throw line. UD benefits from a +4.1 rebounding margin, but faces a -8.6 turnover margin. Â

Mariah Perez has double-digit rebounds in three of the last four games, including tying a career high with 16 boards last outing.
SCOUTING FLORIDA
Florida comes to Dayton for the first time since 2000 and boasts a 7-1 record on the year. The Gators are 0-1 in their only away game of the season, falling at Florida State. UF has won five games straight though and will look to extend that Sunday.
Head coach Kelly Rae Finley earned the title in February of last season after serving as the Interim Head Coach previously. She is in her first full season at the helm of the Gators.
As a team, Florida is scoring 76.4 points each game and holding opposing squads to just 61.0 points for a +15.4 differential. The Gators are shooting 41.7 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from behind the arc, and 72.6 percent from the charity stripe.
Leading the way for UF is Leilani Correa with 16.4 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while KK Deans is contributing 13.3 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.4 steals per game. Nina Rickards is the leading rebounder with 6.4 boards to go with 12.3 points each outing.
LAST TIME OUT
Dayton is coming off a heart-breaking 51-52 loss at home to in-state foe Ohio on Tuesday night. The Flyers led in the final minute, but the Bobcats were able to steal the victory.
Sydney Freeman led UD with 13 points.
Florida cruised to a 68-53 win over Prairie View A&M on Wednesday at home. The Gators held the Panthers to single digits in two of the four quarters, and were led by Nina Rickards and KK Deans, who both had 16 points in the contest.
SERIES HISTORY
Dayton and Florida have played three times previously with the Gators winning all three contests. The last meeting took place on Dec. 8, 2021 in Gainesville with Florida coming out on top in a close one 60-57. Dayton led with 56 seconds remaining in the contest, but the Gators got the game-winning field goal with under 30 seconds to play and held on.

As a team, Dayton ranks 49th in the country in defensive rebounds per game and 62nd in overall rebounds. Individually,
