DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team split its doubleheader with George Mason Saturday at UD Softball Stadium. Dayton claimed the 8-0, five-inning win over Mason in game one while the Patriots downed the Flyers, 15-7, in the nightcap.
Dayton is now 10-17 on the season and 5-5 in Atlantic 10 play while George Mason moves to 14-15 overall and 4-4 in league games.
GAME ONE
Dayton 8, George Mason 0 (5 inn.)
• 11 - the Flyers out-hit the Patriots 11-1
• 6 - senior
Alyssa Cacini collected six RBI on two home runs, including a grand slam in the fourth
• 2 - four Flyers tallied two hits in the game

Kaelene Walter who scored twice
• 3 - junior
Katie Reeg tallied a season-high three RBI with her three-run home run in the third

UP NEXT
Dayton and George Mason will close out their three-game series on Sunday. First pitch between the Flyers and Patriots is set for 12 p.m. at UD Softball Stadium and admission is free.
