DAYTON - The University of Dayton softball team picked up two wins over Purdue Fort Wayne Wednesday in a non-conference home doubleheader. Dayton claimed game one, 10-6, and game two, 7-5, at UD Softball Stadium.
Dayton improves to 16-20 on the season while Purdue Fort Wayne moves to 7-36 overall.
GAME ONE
Dayton 10, Purdue Fort Wayne 6

Emma Schutter and sophomore
Kara Gunter each tallied two hits including Gunter's third home run of the season
• 6 - junior pitcher
Sarah Bailitz tallied a season-high six strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work
• 10 & 3 - junior catcher
Nicolette Papavasiliou recorded a career-high 10 putouts to go with three assists

Katie Reeg tallied two hits including her third home run of the season

UP NEXT
Dayton will close out the home portion of its 2022 season this weekend with a three-game series against Atlantic 10 foe Massachusetts. The Flyers and Minutewomen will play two on Saturday beginning at 12 p.m. followed by a single game Sunday, also at 12 p.m. Prior to Saturday's first game, the Flyers will recognize their senior team members for Senior Day. On Sunday, Dayton softball alumnae will be recognized.
