ATHENS, Ohio - The University of Dayton women's basketball team tried to mount a fourth-quarter comeback Thursday, Nov. 16 at Ohio University, but came out on the short end at the end of the night, 67-61 at the Convocation Center.
The Flyers (1-2) fell behind early but were within striking distance of the Bobcats (1-1) thanks to strong play from Redshirt Senior
Destiny Bohanon and junior
Ivy Wolf in the second half.

3rd quarter– Ohio went on an 8-0 run to push its lead to a game-high 18 at the 3:13 mark of the third.
GAME BREAKDOWN
1st Quarter: Dayton 9, Ohio 14
• Junior
Shannon Wheeler got the Flyers on the scoreboard early, scoring two of her seven points on the night in the opening stanza.
• The Flyers were held to just 21.4 percent (3-for-14) from the floor and 12.5 percent (1-for-8) from beyond the arc in the quarter.
2nd Quarter: Dayton 27, Ohio 35
• Ohio pushed its advantage to eight at the break, outscoring the Flyers 21-18 in the quarter.
• Junior
Arianna Smith came alive for UD, scoring six points.
• The Flyers' field goal percentage recovered in the second, shooting 50 percent (7-for-14) from the floor.
3rd Quarter: Dayton 38, Ohio 53
• After Ohio jumped out to an 18-point lead, Dayton started to chip away at the Bobcats' lead, bringing it back to 15 at the end of the quarter.
• Five different Flyers scored in the period, with
Ivy Wolf getting back in the books with three after having to sit with foul trouble in the second.
4th Quarter: Dayton 61, Ohio 66
• The Bobcats pushed their lead to the largest of the night to start the fourth, leading by 20 with 8:59 to go.
• The Flyers brought the game back within single digits thanks to
Denika Lightbourne, Bohanon and Wolf turning up the offensive pressure.
• Lightbourne scored all eight of her points in the second half, with six coming in the final quarter.
• Bohanon dropped in a pair of threes and scored another at the free throw line.
• Wolf also knocked in two threes, bringing her total to 12 for the game.
• Even with UD outscoring OU 23-14 in the final frame, the comeback ended six points short.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
48 – Dayton dominated the rebounds, 48-32
15 – Bohanon led the Flyers with 15 points on the night.
9 – As a team, UD had just nine assists in the game.
KEY STAT
Three-point Percentage – Dayton shot just 23.8 percent (5-for-21) from beyond the arc while Ohio shot 39.1 percent (9-for-23).
