CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Dayton softball team closed out the Austin Peay Governors Classic with two wins on Sunday, a 2-0 victory over UIC followed by a 5-3 win over Belmont. The Flyers posted a 3-1 record on the weekend.
Dayton heads home with a 9-10 overall mark on the season. UIC is now 0-21 and Belmont moves to 13-7 for the year.
GAME ONE
Dayton 2, UIC 0

12 - as a team, Dayton collected 12 hits - the fourth double-digit hit game of the season for UD

Alyssa Cacini went 3-for-3 at the plate

Taylor Erschen knocked out her first career home run, a solo shot to lead off the seventh inning

UP NEXT
Dayton is set to open the home portion of its 2023 schedule on Thursday as it welcomes Bellarmine to UD Softball Stadium. The Flyers and Knights will play two with first pitch set for 2 p.m. March 16. Admission is free.
